For the bigger picture, read our guide on how to rank on Google Maps in Chiniot or see our local SEO service.
Part 1: Set Up (Do Once)
- Search your business name on Google. Check whether a profile already exists, perhaps one someone else made.
- Claim or create the profile. Use a Google account that you own and that will not change. Do not use a staff member’s personal account.
- Verify it. Follow Google’s steps. An unverified profile does poorly.
- Check for duplicates. One location, one profile. Report extras to Google.
- Add a second owner. Give a trusted partner or co-founder access, so you do not lose the profile if one person leaves.
Part 2: Basic Information
- Business name. Use the name on your sign. Do not add keywords or locations to it.
- Primary category. Choose the one that says exactly what you are. This matters most.
- Secondary categories. Add only ones that are true.
- Address. Write it the same way you write it everywhere else. Place the map pin on your door, not on the road.
- Service area. If you travel to customers, add the areas. Keep it to places you really serve.
- Phone number. Use a number someone answers. Add a WhatsApp-capable number if you take enquiries there.
- Website. Link to your homepage, or to the best matching page.
- Opening hours. Check every day. Add special hours for Eid, Ramadan and public holidays.
- Opened-on date. Add it if asked.
Our own details look like this, so you can compare: 1st Floor, Dr. Sarfaraz Plaza, Dr. Aziz Ali Road, Chiniot 35400. Your address should be as clear.
Part 3: Describe What You Do
- Business description. Write a short, clear description in plain words. Say what you sell, who you serve and where. Avoid hype and do not repeat the same words many times.
- Services or products. List each one with a short description. Add what makes it different, such as wood type, dish name or hall capacity.
- Attributes. Tick what is true: Wi-Fi, parking, wheelchair access, family seating, women-friendly spaces and similar.
- Booking or order links. Add them if you have them.
- Menu or catalogue. Add the real items and prices you can share.
Part 4: Photos and Video
- Logo and cover photo.
- Shop front, from the street. It helps people find you.
- Inside photos. Show seating, display areas or work areas.
- Products and work. Finished pieces, dishes, events.
- Team photos. People trust people.
- Add new photos monthly. A steady flow shows the business is active.
- Use your own images. Skip stock photos.
Part 5: Reviews
- Copy your review link. Find it in your profile and save it.
- Ask happy customers. Send the link on WhatsApp right after a good experience.
- Reply to every review. Thank people. Name something specific when you can.
- Reply to bad reviews calmly. Say sorry if you were wrong. Offer to talk privately. Never argue in public.
- Do not buy reviews or offer rewards. Google does not allow it.
- Do not send only happy customers to Google. This is called review gating and is against Google’s rules.

Part 6: Posts and Updates
- Post at least twice a month. Offers, new items, events and news.
- Give offers an end date.
- Add a clear button. Call, WhatsApp, learn more.
- Remove old posts and offers that no longer apply.
Part 7: Make It Match Elsewhere
- Match your website. Same name, address, phone and hours.
- Match Facebook and Instagram.
- Match Bing Places and other listings. See local citations in Pakistan.
- Add the business to your website’s contact page with a map.
Part 8: Monthly Check (10 Minutes)
- Are hours right?
- Are there new reviews to reply to?
- Were new photos added?
- Any new questions or messages?
- Look at Insights: how many searched, called, asked for directions or visited your website?
- Has anyone suggested an edit to your profile? Check and fix wrong ones.
What Not to Do
- Do not use a fake address, a mailbox or a virtual office as your location.
- Do not add keywords to the business name.
- Do not create several profiles for the same shop.
- Do not buy reviews or fake ones.
- Do not leave the profile alone for months.
- Do not lose access. Keep two owners and a safe recovery email.
Example: A Restaurant in Chiniot
A restaurant that follows this list would choose the right food category, upload a clear text menu and real dish photos, add Friday hours with the prayer break, mark parking and family seating, ask diners for reviews and reply to each one. These steps help people choose you. They do not promise a ranking. See restaurant marketing in Chiniot.
